General Purpose Relay SPDT (1 Form C) 12VDC Coil Through Hole
Active200 in stock

Overview

The G2RL-1-E-HA DC12 is a high-capacity power relay from Omron designed for reliable switching of loads up to 16 A. This SPDT (1 Form C) relay features a low profile height of 15.7 mm and is rated for high-temperature environments up to 105 degrees Celsius. It is particularly suited for power switching in household appliances and industrial controls where space and thermal performance are critical.

Why Choose This Part

This relay offers a high switching capacity of 16 A in a compact through-hole package while maintaining flux-tight sealing. It supports high-temperature operation up to 105 degrees Celsius, making it robust for dense enclosures with limited airflow. The 12VDC coil is efficient, requiring only 33.3 mA for actuation.

Applications

Home Appliances
Ideal for controlling heating elements, motors, and compressors in ovens, washing machines, and air conditioners.
Industrial Machinery
Used in PLC output stages and control panels for switching actuators and high-wattage solenoids.
HVAC Controls
Reliable switching for fans and electric heaters in building automation systems.
Power Supplies
Functions as a main power disconnect or inrush current limiter bypass in large power converters.

Getting Started

When designing the PCB, ensure copper trace widths are sized to handle the 16 A load and maintain creepage and clearance distances for the 440VAC maximum switching voltage. Use a standard flyback diode (such as a 1N4007) across the 12VDC coil terminals to protect the driving transistor from inductive spikes. For prototyping, this through-hole component can be used on 0.1 inch pitch perfboards, though dedicated power PCB traces are recommended for high-current testing.

Also Consider

RT314012 TE Connectivity - A widely used 16A SPDT alternative with similar pinout and power ratings for industrial applications.
G5Q-14 DC12 Omron Electronics - A smaller footprint relay suitable if the load is 10A or less and space is at a premium.
