Omron Electronics Inc-EMC Div
General Purpose Relay SPDT (1 Form C) 5VDC Coil Through Hole
Active8,121 in stock

Overview

The G5LE-14 DC5 is a subminiature SPDT power relay capable of switching loads up to 10 A at 250 VAC. This through-hole component features a 5 VDC coil and a fully sealed construction, making it suitable for environments where flux or cleaning solvents are present. It is designed to provide high switching power in a compact 16.5 mm x 22.6 mm footprint.

Why Choose This Part

This relay offers a high switching capacity of 10 A within a small form factor and includes Class B coil insulation as standard. Its fully sealed design ensures reliable operation in harsh environments, and the SPDT (1 Form C) configuration provides flexibility for both normally-open and normally-closed logic.

Applications

Home Appliances
Ideal for controlling heating elements, motors, or power supplies in air conditioners, washing machines, and microwave ovens.
Smart Lighting Control
Used in wireless switches and lighting hubs to switch mains-voltage LED or incandescent loads.
Industrial PLC Output Modules
Acts as a rugged interface between low-power logic controllers and high-current industrial actuators.
Vending Machines
Reliable switching for solenoids, compressors, and dispensing motors in automated retail hardware.

Getting Started

To drive this relay from a microcontroller, use a logic-level NPN transistor or N-channel MOSFET as a low-side switch to handle the 79.4 mA coil current. Always include a flyback diode (such as a 1N4007) across the coil terminals to prevent inductive voltage spikes from damaging your control circuitry. Ensure the PCB traces for the 10 A load side are sufficiently wide and use thick copper to manage thermal rise.
