Overview

The G5V-1-T90 DC5 is an ultra-miniature SPDT low-signal relay designed for high-density PCB mounting. It features a fully-sealed construction and is optimized for telecommunication and signal switching applications with a 5VDC coil voltage. This relay is specifically designed to meet FCC Part 68 standards for telecommunications equipment.

Why Choose This Part

The relay offers an ultra-miniature footprint of 12.5mm by 7.5mm, saving significant PCB area in dense designs. Its fully-sealed construction allows for automatic soldering and cleaning processes while ensuring reliability in harsh environments. With high sensitivity and a fast 5ms operate time, it is highly responsive for critical signal switching.

Applications

Telecommunication Equipment
Ideal for line switching and signal routing in telecom devices due to FCC Part 68 compliance.
Home Automation
Used in smart home hubs and security systems for switching low-power AC or DC signals.
Industrial Control Systems
Suitable for signal processing and interlocking in PLC peripherals where space is limited.

Getting Started

When integrating this relay, ensure a flyback diode is placed across the coil to protect driving circuitry from inductive spikes. The PCB layout should account for the through-hole pinout and provide sufficient clearance between the low-voltage coil and the switched signal contacts. For evaluation, the relay can be prototyped on a standard 0.1 inch pitch perforated board with slight modifications to accommodate the offset terminal pins.
