Overview

The gen4-uLCD-43DCT-SB-PI is a 4.3-inch slim-profile intelligent display module powered by the DIABLO16 graphics processor. This kit includes a dedicated interface board and cable for seamless integration with Raspberry Pi, providing a high-brightness 480 x 272 resolution TFT display with integrated capacitive touch. It features a microSD slot for local storage of multimedia assets and scripts, offloading graphical overhead from the host processor.

Why Choose This Part

The module features the powerful DIABLO16 controller which supports 16 GPIOs and 4 ADC channels, allowing the display to act as a localized I/O hub. Its Super Bright (SB) backlight and capacitive touch glass provide excellent visibility and modern gesture-based user interaction in various lighting conditions. Hardware-level offloading for graphics and timing-sensitive tasks ensures the host Raspberry Pi remains responsive for application-level logic.

Applications

Industrial HMI Kits
Creating rugged, touch-enabled control panels for machinery using Raspberry Pi as the main controller.
Smart Home Hubs
Integrating high-resolution status displays with capacitive touch for central home automation interfaces.
IoT Data Visualization
Real-time graphing and monitoring of sensor data from local I2C and SPI peripherals directly on the DIABLO16 engine.
Embedded Multimedia
Playback of audio and high-speed graphics via the integrated audio generation and 32KB RAM architecture.

Getting Started

Connect the display to a Raspberry Pi using the included 4D Serial Pi Adapter and 5-way FFC cable. Developers can use the Workshop4 IDE to program the DIABLO16 processor using the 4DGL language or utilize the ViSi-Genie tool for rapid drag-and-drop UI development. Ensure the power supply can provide at least 540mA at 5V for reliable operation at full brightness.
