HTU21D
Overview
The HTU21D is a high-performance digital humidity and temperature sensor housed in a compact 3x3mm DFN package. It provides calibrated, linearized signals in digital I2C format for ease of integration into embedded systems. With a low power consumption of 0.02uA in sleep mode, it is specifically designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive applications where power efficiency is critical.
Why Choose This Part
The sensor features an impressive 2 percent relative humidity accuracy and operates across a wide 1.5V to 3.6V supply range. Its fast response time and instantaneous desaturation ensure reliable performance even after exposure to extreme conditions or high humidity environments. The fully calibrated digital output eliminates the need for external signal conditioning components, reducing overall BOM cost.
Applications
Getting Started
To begin prototyping, connect the sensor to any MCU with an I2C bus using a 10k ohm pull-up resistor on the SDA and SCL lines. Development boards such as the SparkFun Humidity Sensor Breakout provide an easy way to interface with Arduino or Raspberry Pi platforms. Software development is simplified by using standard I2C libraries to read the 14-bit humidity and 12-bit temperature registers.
