LSCCICE40LP1K-CB121
Overview
The ICE40LP1K-CB121 is an ultra-low power FPGA from the Lattice iCE40 LP family, featuring 1280 Look-Up Tables (LUTs) in a compact 121-pin chip-scale BGA package. It is designed specifically for mobile and power-constrained applications where typical FPGAs would exceed the power budget, operating with a core voltage of 1.2V. The device includes internal non-volatile configuration memory (NVCM), allowing for single-chip solutions without an external boot PROM.
Why Choose This Part
The device features a remarkably low static power consumption with a sleep current of 250 microamps and a run current as low as 100 microamps. It includes dedicated sysMEM block RAM and high-current LED drivers, alongside flexible I/O standards like subLVDS and LVCMOS 3.3/2.5/1.8. The integration of NVCM reduces PCB footprint and bill-of-materials cost by eliminating the need for external flash.
Applications
Getting Started
Designers can use the Lattice iCEcube2 or Radiant software for synthesis and place-and-route. For hardware evaluation, the iCE40HX1K-B-EVN or similar iCE40 development boards offer a starting point, though they may use the HX (High Speed) variant rather than this LP (Low Power) version. The open-source IceStorm toolchain is also a popular alternative for developing on this architecture.
