ICE40LP1K-CM49
Overview
The ICE40LP1K-CM49 is an ultra-low power FPGA from the iCE40 LP family, designed specifically for power-sensitive mobile and handheld applications. It features 1280 logic cells and 64 kbit of embedded RAM in a tiny 3x3mm 49-UCBGA package. The device utilizes a 40 nm CMOS process to achieve standby currents as low as 100 uA.
Why Choose This Part
The primary advantage is the ultra-low power consumption profile, including the iCEGate technology that allows for fine-grained power gating of logic. Its 0.4mm pitch 49-pin BGA package provides 35 I/O in a footprint of only 9 square millimeters. The internal Nonvolatile Configuration Memory (NVCM) eliminates the requirement for an external configuration PROM in high-volume production.

Getting Started
Designers can use the Lattice iCEcube2 software for synthesis and routing, or the open-source IceStorm toolchain for a lightweight development workflow. Hardware development is typically performed using the iCE40 UltraLite Breakout Board or the iCEstick Evaluation Kit for initial code validation. Configuration is handled through a standard SPI interface using a 1.2V core supply.
