Overview

The INA132UA/2K5 is a low-power, precision differential amplifier consisting of an internal op amp and a precision resistor network. It is designed to convert differential signals to single-ended signals with a fixed gain of 1, offering excellent common-mode rejection and very low offset voltage. Operating over a wide supply range from 2.7V to 36V, it is optimized for battery-powered and industrial instrumentation applications.

Why Choose This Part

This device features an extremely low input offset voltage of 75 uV and a high common-mode rejection ratio, ensuring signal integrity in noisy environments. The integrated laser-trimmed resistors provide 0.1 percent gain accuracy and superior temperature stability compared to discrete solutions. Its low quiescent current of 175 uA makes it highly efficient for low-power and remote sensing applications.

Applications

Differential-to-Single-Ended Conversion
Ideal for converting differential signals from sensors to ground-referenced signals for ADC inputs.
Current Shunt Monitoring
Used to measure voltage drops across high-side or low-side shunt resistors in power management circuits.
Ground Loop Elimination
Effective at rejecting common-mode noise and ground potential differences in distributed industrial systems.
Battery Powered Instrumentation
Suitability for portable devices due to its low 160uA supply current and wide operating voltage.

Getting Started

To implement the INA132, connect the differential input signal to pins 2 and 3, and ensure the reference pin 1 is connected to a low-impedance ground or reference voltage. Since the resistors are internal, no external gain-setting components are required, which simplifies PCB layout and improves precision. Decouple the power supply pins with 0.1uF ceramic capacitors located as close to the 8-SOIC package as possible.
