Overview

The INA169QPWRQ1 is an automotive-qualified, high-side, unipolar current shunt monitor that converts a differential input voltage into a current output. This AEC-Q100 qualified IC operates over a wide common-mode voltage range of 2.7V to 60V, making it suitable for both 12V and 24V vehicle systems.

Why Choose This Part

The device features a wide input common-mode range of 2.7V to 60V and a low quiescent current of only 60uA. Its output current can be converted back to a voltage using a single external resistor, allowing for easy gain adjustment to match ADC input ranges.

Applications

Automotive Battery Management
Monitoring charging and discharging currents in 12V and 24V battery systems with AEC-Q100 reliability.
Electric Power Steering (EPS)
Real-time current sensing for motor control feedback in steering assistance systems.
Body Control Modules
Detecting overcurrent conditions in lighting, wipers, and power window actuators.
Precision Current Sources
Providing feedback for constant-current LED drivers or solenoid control circuits.

Getting Started

When designing with the INA169QPWRQ1, select a shunt resistor value that keeps the full-scale differential input voltage within the linear range. Connect the output resistor (RL) between the OUT pin and ground to set the desired transconductance gain, and ensure the 8-TSSOP package has adequate thermal relief for the target environment.
