TIINA226EVM
Overview
The INA226EVM is a demonstration kit for the INA226, a high-side or low-side bi-directional current and power monitor with an I2C/SMBus compatible interface. It allows engineers to evaluate the 16-bit ADC performance and test the device accuracy across a wide common-mode voltage range of 0V to 36V. The evaluation module includes the necessary hardware to interface with a PC for rapid prototyping of precision power monitoring solutions.
Why Choose This Part
The system features a high-resolution 16-bit ADC that delivers 0.1 percent accuracy for precise power measurement. It operates on a low supply current of 0.33mA and supports a flexible input range that can sense currents at bus voltages independently of the 2.7V to 5.5V supply voltage. The included evaluation board simplifies software development by providing a proven layout and reference schematic for the I2C interface.

Getting Started
Connect the EVM to a PC using the provided USB cable and use the Texas Instruments evaluation software to configure the INA226 registers and view real-time data. Ensure the shunt resistor value is correctly entered in the software to calculate current and power accurately. For custom MCU integration, wire the I2C SDA and SCL lines to your controller and use the 16-bit registers to poll shunt voltage and bus voltage data.
