Overview

The INA228EVM is a demonstration platform for the INA228, a 20-bit high-precision digital power monitor with an I2C interface. It allows engineers to evaluate the IC's ability to measure bidirectional shunt current, bus voltage up to 85V, and integrated power, energy, and charge accumulation. The board provides a complete hardware reference for testing the high-side or low-side current sensing capabilities of the ultra-high resolution ADC.

Why Choose This Part

The system offers an extremely high 20-bit resolution with 0.05 percent accuracy, significantly reducing measurement error in low-power or high-precision applications. It includes built-in digital accumulation for energy and charge, which offloads complex math from the host microcontroller while maintaining a low run current of less than 1.1mA.

Applications

Battery Management Systems
Utilizing the 20-bit ADC for precise monitoring of state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) via energy and charge accumulation.
Industrial Power Monitoring
Monitoring high-voltage DC rails up to 85V in telecommunications or server power distribution units.
Solar Energy Systems
Tracking power generation and storage efficiency in photovoltaic systems with high dynamic range current sensing.
