TIINA230AIDGSR
Overview
The INA230AIDGSR is a high-side or low-side digital current and power monitor featuring an I2C and SMBus compatible interface. It provides 16-bit resolution for both bus voltage and shunt voltage sensing across a common-mode range of 0V to 36V. The device is designed to measure current and power with high accuracy while maintaining a low supply current of 330uA.
Why Choose This Part
The component offers a high 16-bit resolution and 0.3% accuracy, ensuring reliable data for precision power calculations. Its programmable conversion times and averaging modes allow engineers to optimize for either low noise or high-speed transient detection. Furthermore, a dedicated alert pin provides immediate notification of out-of-range current or voltage conditions without constant polling.

Getting Started
Integration requires an I2C host and a shunt resistor sized for the target current range. Use the TI INA230EVM evaluation module to prototype without custom PCB fabrication. Software development is simplified by setting the Calibration Register based on the shunt value to obtain direct readings in Amperes and Watts.
