Overview

The INIR7-CO2-RS485 is a high-resolution NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) carbon dioxide sensor module designed for industrial safety and hazardous environments. It features integrated electronics for signal processing and a robust RS-485 interface, providing a factory-calibrated output across a 0 to 5 percent CO2 range. The module includes full fault diagnostics, CRC error checking, and is optimized for stable operation in challenging conditions from -40C to +75C.

Why Choose This Part

This module eliminates the need for field calibration and complex analog signal conditioning by providing a direct RS-485 digital output. It offers high precision with 10ppm resolution and a detectivity level of 100ppm, combined with a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 30V. The low 100uA sleep current makes it suitable for power-constrained remote monitoring stations.

Applications

Industrial Health and Safety
Monitoring CO2 levels in confined spaces and industrial plants to ensure worker safety.
EV Battery Monitoring
Detecting gas evolution in electric vehicle battery compartments for early failure warning.
Agricultural Climate Control
Managing CO2 concentrations in commercial greenhouses and vertical farms for optimal plant growth.
Hazardous Area Monitoring
Reliable gas detection in potentially explosive or harsh environments where robust packaging is required.
Waste Management
Monitoring biogas composition and CO2 byproduct levels in waste processing facilities.

Getting Started

Connect the module to an RS-485 transceiver or a PC using a USB-to-RS485 adapter to interface with the SGX Sensortech PC software for configuration. Ensure the power supply can provide at least 25mA at 12V for active operation. Utilize the built-in CRC and diagnostic registers in your firmware to validate data integrity and sensor health in real-time.
