Overview

The ISO7342CQDWRQ1 is an automotive-qualified, quad-channel digital isolator providing 3000Vrms isolation for one minute per UL 1577. This device features two forward and two backward channels (2/2 configuration) and supports signaling rates up to 25Mbps. It is designed to replace optocouplers in harsh environments, offering improved timing performance and higher transient immunity.

Why Choose This Part

This isolator is AEC-Q100 qualified for Grade 1 temperatures (-40C to 125C), making it suitable for under-the-hood applications. It offers a high typical Common-Mode Transient Immunity (CMTI) of 70kV/us at 5V, ensuring reliable data transmission in electrically noisy environments. Additionally, integrated noise filters on the inputs help prevent false triggering from short pulses.

Applications

Automotive CAN Bus Isolation
Protects sensitive microcontrollers from high-voltage transients on vehicle communication networks.
EV Battery Management Systems (BMS)
Provides essential galvanic isolation between high-voltage battery stacks and low-voltage control electronics.
Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Inverters
Isolates gate driver signals in power conversion stages to ensure safety and signal integrity.
Industrial Fieldbus Communication
Facilitates isolated RS-485 or CAN communication in automated factory environments.

Getting Started

When designing your PCB, ensure a minimum of 8mm creepage and clearance is maintained under the SOIC-16 wide-body package to meet safety standards. Place 0.1uF bypass capacitors as close as possible to the VCC pins on both the primary and secondary sides. For evaluation, use an ISO7342-specific breakout board or a generic SOIC-16 wide-body adapter to verify signaling integrity at your target baud rate.
