Overview

The KP229E3111XTMA1 is a high-precision absolute pressure sensor designed for automotive manifold air pressure (MAP) applications and industrial control systems. It integrates a capacitive sensing element with a signal conditioning CMOS IC on a single chip, providing a ratiometric analog output proportional to the applied pressure. The sensor is AEC-Q100 qualified and features internal temperature compensation to maintain accuracy across a wide -40 C to 140 C operating range.

Why Choose This Part

This sensor offers exceptional accuracy of +/- 3.75 kPa over its full 20 kPa to 300 kPa range. It includes integrated safety features such as broken wire detection and output clamping to protect downstream ADCs. The PG-DSOF-8-16 package is optimized for surface-mount assembly in harsh automotive environments.

Applications

Automotive MAP Sensing
Measurement of manifold absolute pressure in internal combustion engines for air-fuel ratio calculation.
Industrial Process Control
Monitoring absolute pressure in industrial pneumatic systems and automated machinery.
Altimeters and Weather Stations
High-accuracy barometric pressure measurement for altitude tracking and meteorological equipment.
Medical Equipment
Pressure monitoring in respiratory devices and non-invasive medical instrumentation.

Getting Started

To evaluate this sensor, connect the VDD pin to a stable 5V supply and the VOUT pin to a high-impedance ADC input on a microcontroller. Ensure a 100nF decoupling capacitor is placed close to the supply pins as recommended in the datasheet. Since the output is ratiometric, use the microcontroller supply as the ADC reference to minimize measurement errors caused by voltage fluctuations.
