The KSZ8081RNACA is a single-supply 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet physical layer transceiver designed for highly integrated networking applications. It utilizes the Reduced Media Independent Interface (RMII) to communicate with a MAC, significantly reducing pin count while providing a 50 MHz reference clock output. This compact 24-pin QFN solution includes on-chip termination resistors and baseline wander correction to simplify PCB layout and improve signal integrity.

Getting Started

To evaluate this PHY, use the KSZ8081RNA-EVAL board which provides standard RJ45 connectivity and header access to the RMII pins. Ensure your PCB layout maintains 100-ohm differential impedance for the transmit and receive pairs and place decoupling capacitors as close to the VDD pins as possible. Configuration is handled through the MDC/MDIO management interface using standard IEEE 802.3 registers.
