Overview

The KTD2511CEHD-TR is a high-efficiency step-up DC-DC converter designed to drive strings of white LEDs. Operating at a fixed 1MHz switching frequency, it integrates a 20V high-current switch and utilizes a low 200mV feedback voltage to minimize power loss in the sense resistor.

Why Choose This Part

The device features an integrated soft-start to reduce inrush current and an over-voltage protection (OVP) threshold of 19V to protect against open-circuit conditions. Its wide PWM dimming range and high accuracy across the full load range make it ideal for precise brightness control in space-constrained TSOT-23-6 designs.

Applications

LCD Backlighting
Driving LED backlights for small to medium-sized displays in handheld devices and industrial terminals.
Flashlight Functions
Providing regulated current for high-brightness LEDs in portable battery-powered electronics.
Portable Instrumentation
Efficient lighting control for battery-operated medical or diagnostic tools requiring dimming.

Getting Started

To implement this driver, place a 1uF to 2.2uF ceramic capacitor close to the VIN pin and select an inductor, typically 10uH to 22uH, based on the required output current and ripple. Apply a PWM signal to the EN/SET pin to control dimming levels.
