LEOAC14PT

MPN: LEOAC14PT-D
STMicroelectronics
Inverter IC 6 Channel Schmitt Trigger Input 20-TSSOP
Active

Overview

The LEOAC14PT is a radiation-hardened hex inverter with Schmitt trigger inputs designed for harsh orbital environments. Part of the STMicroelectronics LEO series, it provides six independent circuits capable of transforming slowly changing input signals into sharply defined, jitter-free output signals. It is specifically qualified for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions with guaranteed outgassing limits and total ionizing dose resistance.

Why Choose This Part

This device is SEL-free up to 62.5 MeV.cm2/mg and tested for a total ionizing dose (TID) of 50 krad (Si). It features high-quality NiPdAu lead finishing and gold wires to prevent tin whiskers in vacuum environments, while maintaining low outgassing specifications (RML less than 1% and CVCM less than 0.1%).

Applications

Satellite Logic Level Restoration
Used in orbital electronics to clean up noisy or slow-rising signals into clean digital waveforms for downstream processors.
LEO Mission Control Systems
Acts as a robust interface in spacecraft command and data handling units where radiation immunity is required.
Radiation-Hardened Pulse Shaping
Ideal for creating square waves from sinusoidal inputs or providing signal inversion in space-constrained TSSOP-20 layouts.

Getting Started

When designing for LEO missions, ensure the VCC is decoupled within the 2V to 6V range and account for the 12ns propagation delay at 4.5V. Prototype with standard 74AC14 TSSOP-14 footprints, but note the LEOAC14PT uses a 20-pin TSSOP package for improved thermal and mechanical reliability in flight hardware.
