Overview

The LFPTXO000001 is a Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) providing a stable 10 MHz reference signal with a HCMOS output. It operates on a 3.3V supply and maintains a tight frequency stability of +/-1ppm across a wide industrial temperature range from -40C to 85C. This 10-SMD module is designed for applications requiring higher precision than standard crystal oscillators can provide.

Why Choose This Part

This oscillator offers a significant improvement in frequency stability (+/-1ppm) compared to standard XO devices while maintaining a low current consumption of approximately 3mA. The integrated enable/disable function allows for power saving in battery-operated designs, and its 7.00mm x 5.00mm SMD footprint is a standard industry size for easy PCB integration.

Applications

Base Station Synchronization
Providing a stable clock reference for cellular and radio base stations to ensure precise timing between network nodes.
GNSS Receivers
Improving time-to-first-fix and signal acquisition sensitivity in GPS and navigation systems by reducing frequency drift.
Industrial Instrumentation
Acting as a high-accuracy heartbeat for data acquisition systems and test equipment where thermal stability is critical.
Point-to-Point Wireless
Maintaining stable carrier frequencies in microwave and RF communication links subject to outdoor temperature fluctuations.

Getting Started

To implement this device, provide a clean 3.3V supply with local 0.1uF and 10uF decoupling capacitors placed close to the Vcc pin. Ensure the HCMOS output is connected to a high-impedance load (typically 15pF max) and use the tri-state enable pin (Pin 1) to control the output signal. For prototyping, this 10-SMD package can be mounted on a standard 7050-sized breakout board.
