Overview

The LM321SN3T1G is a single-circuit, general-purpose operational amplifier designed for low-power operation across a wide supply range of 3V to 32V. It features a true differential input stage and internal compensation, making it an easy-to-use solution for cost-sensitive analog signal conditioning. Housed in a compact 5-pin TSOP package, it provides a space-efficient alternative to traditional dual or quad op-amps when only a single gain stage is required.

Why Choose This Part

This amplifier is unity-gain stable even with capacitive loads up to 1.5 nF, ensuring robust stability in varied circuit layouts. It operates with a very low typical supply current of 0.25mA, which is ideal for battery-operated devices requiring long operational life. The device's ability to handle a wide input voltage range up to 32V allows it to interface directly with high-voltage industrial rails.

Applications

Transducer Amplifiers
Used to amplify low-level signals from sensors in industrial and consumer electronics.
DC Gain Blocks
Provides precise voltage gain in battery-powered systems with minimal current draw.
Active Filters
Implementing low-pass or high-pass filters in analog signal paths.
Current Shunt Sensing
Monitoring current flow by amplifying the voltage drop across a low-resistance shunt.

Getting Started

To evaluate this part, prototype on a SOT-23/TSOP-5 to DIP adapter board for breadboard compatibility. Ensure a 0.1uF ceramic decoupling capacitor is placed as close as possible to the VCC pin (Pin 5) to minimize noise. Since the part is internally compensated, no external frequency compensation components are required for standard gain configurations.
