Overview

The LPC8N04 is an ARM Cortex-M0+ based microcontroller featuring an integrated NFC interface for short-range wireless communication. It is uniquely designed to operate in battery-less environments by harvesting energy from the RF field of an NFC reader. With 32KB of flash and 8KB of RAM, it serves as a bridge between NFC-enabled devices and industrial or consumer hardware.

Why Choose This Part

The integrated NFC ISO 14443 Type A interface allows for simultaneous data transfer and energy harvesting from the RF field. It includes a dedicated on-chip temperature sensor and 4KB of EEPROM, which is ideal for persistent logging in ultra-low power states down to 7uA standby current.

Applications

Battery-less Smart Tags
Creating intelligent labels that record environmental data and are powered solely by an NFC-enabled smartphone during readout.
Industrial Data Loggers
Passive sensors that log temperature or vibration and transmit historical data through the NFC interface without requiring a physical connector.
Contactless Parameter Configuration
Updating device settings or firmware in sealed enclosures using NFC as the primary communication and power source.
NFC to I2C/SPI Bridge
Acting as a gateway between a smartphone and a host system for secure provisioning or diagnostics.
