MCHPMCP2561T-E/MF
Overview
The MCP2561T-E/MF is a high-speed CAN transceiver that provides the interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. It is designed for high-speed applications up to 1 Mb/s and serves as the differential transceiver for the physical layer, offering excellent EMC performance and high ESD protection.
Why Choose This Part
This transceiver features a very low standby current of 5 uA and operates over a wide supply voltage of 4.5V to 5.5V. It is qualified for extended temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius and includes a VIO pin to interface directly with microcontrollers using 1.8V to 5.5V logic levels.

Getting Started
To evaluate this part, pair it with a Microchip PIC or SAM microcontroller featuring an integrated CAN peripheral. Ensure a 120 ohm termination resistor is present at each end of the CAN bus and place a decoupling capacitor close to the VDD pin on your PCB layout. For rapid prototyping, look for CAN terminal breakout boards or the CAN Bus Analyzer Tool from Microchip.
