MCHPMCP2562-E/SN
Overview
The MCP2562-E/SN is a high-speed CAN transceiver that provides an interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. It features a dedicated VIO pin for direct interfacing with microcontrollers operating from 1.8V to 5.5V without needing external level shifters. This device is designed for high-speed CAN FD applications and offers very low standby current consumption of 1 uA.
Why Choose This Part
The inclusion of a VIO pin simplifies designs by supporting digital logic levels as low as 1.8V, making it compatible with modern low-voltage MCUs and FPGAs. It offers high electromagnetic immunity and low electromagnetic emission, along with protection against short circuits and thermal overload.

Getting Started
Connect the TXD and RXD pins to your microcontroller's CAN controller and the CANH/CANL pins to the bus. Ensure a 120-ohm termination resistor is present at both ends of the CAN bus. For evaluation, Microchip offers several CAN development boards and the MCP2562 can be prototyped using a standard 8-SOIC to DIP adapter.
