MCHPMCP4725 Evaluation Board
Overview
The MCP4725EV is a compact evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MCP4725, a 12-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) with non-volatile memory. It allows engineers to quickly interface with the DAC via an I2C bus to evaluate rail-to-rail output performance and power-down functionality. The board is powered directly from the VDD source, supporting a range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
Why Choose This Part
The board features the MCP4725's integrated EEPROM, which allows the DAC to restore its output state automatically after a power cycle. With a 12-bit resolution and rail-to-rail output, it provides high precision across the entire 2.7V to 5.5V supply range while maintaining an extremely low power-down current of 0.06uA.
Applications
Getting Started
To begin, connect the board to an I2C master such as an Arduino or PICkit Serial Analyzer using the provided header pins. Use the standard I2C protocol to write values to the DAC register or the internal EEPROM for persistent storage. The board's small form factor and simple pinout allow it to be easily integrated into breadboard-based prototypes for rapid firmware development.
