Overview

The MGM13P02F512GA-V2 is a fully integrated multiprotocol module based on the Silicon Labs EFR32MG13 Mighty Gecko SoC. It provides a complete solution for 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, supporting Bluetooth 5.0, Zigbee, and Thread protocols within a pre-certified hardware platform. The module features an ARM Cortex-M4 core with 512 kB of Flash and an integrated trace antenna to simplify RF design.

Why Choose This Part

This module eliminates the complexity of RF layout and certification while providing a high-sensitivity receiver (-102.1dBm) for extended range. The integrated hardware cryptographic acceleration for AES and SHA improves security performance without taxing the CPU, and the ultra-low sleep current of 1.4 microamps is optimized for battery-powered end devices.

Applications

Zigbee Home Automation
Ideal for smart lighting, window sensors, and door locks requiring mesh networking capabilities.
Bluetooth Low Energy Sensors
Provides 2Mbps data rates for high-throughput sensor telemetry or firmware-over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Thread Mesh Networking
Supports IP-based mesh networking for reliable communication in dense commercial building automation environments.

Getting Started

Development is supported through the Silicon Labs Simplicity Studio IDE, which includes the wireless stacks for Zigbee and Bluetooth. For hardware evaluation, use the Wireless Gecko Starter Kit (SLWSTK6000B) paired with the MGM13P Radio Board. The module also features an integrated DC-DC converter to simplify power supply design in mobile applications.
