Overview

The MGM240PA22VNA3 is a high-performance multiprotocol wireless module from Silicon Labs, based on the Matter-ready EFR32MG24 SoC. It integrates an ARM Cortex-M33 core with an FPU, 1.5MB of Flash, and 256kB of RAM to support complex mesh networking and application code in a single compact footprint. This module features an integrated PCB trace antenna and is pre-certified for 2.4GHz protocols including Bluetooth 5.4, Zigbee, and Thread.

Why Choose This Part

This module simplifies RF design by integrating the antenna and all necessary timing components into a 12.9mm x 15mm package. It offers exceptional low-power performance with a deep sleep current of 1.3uA and high-efficiency processing via the 78MHz ARM Cortex-M33 core. Security is a primary strength, featuring hardware-level Root of Trust, anti-tamper, and ARM TrustZone for robust IoT protection.

Applications

Smart Home Hubs and Gateways
Ideal for bridging multiprotocol networks like Zigbee and Thread while providing Bluetooth commissioning for mobile devices.
Industrial Lighting Control
Utilizes 10dBm output power and high sensitivity of -106dBm to ensure robust mesh networking in dense industrial environments.
Secure Edge Nodes
Leverages PSA Level 3 certified security features like Secure Vault and PUF for protecting sensitive data in connected sensors.

Getting Started

Development is centered around Silicon Labs Simplicity Studio IDE, which includes the GSDK for Zigbee, Thread, and Bluetooth stacks. For hardware evaluation, engineers should use the xG24-PK6010A Pro Kit or the xG24-RB4186C Radio Board. The module supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and includes a Secure Loader for protected field deployments.
