Overview

The MIC5317-1.8YMT-TZ is a high-performance 150mA low dropout (LDO) regulator designed for space-constrained applications. It provides a fixed 1.8V output from an input range of 2.5V to 6V, featuring an exceptionally small 1mm x 1mm UDFN package. With a high PSRR of 80dB at 1kHz and a low quiescent current of 29uA, it is optimized for battery-powered devices requiring clean power rails.

Why Choose This Part

This regulator offers a superior balance of size and performance, occupying only 1 square millimeter of PCB area. It ensures robust operation with integrated over-current and over-temperature protection while maintaining high output accuracy of 2 percent. The dedicated enable pin allows for aggressive power management in duty-cycled applications.

Applications

Mobile Handsets
Provides clean 1.8V power for baseband and application processors in compact mobile designs.
Wearable Electronics
Utilizes the 1mm x 1mm footprint to provide regulated power in ultra-small form factor consumer devices.
Camera Modules
High PSRR helps minimize image noise by filtering power supply ripples in sensitive imaging sensors.
Battery-Powered IoT
Extends battery life using the 0.05uA shutdown current and low 29uA operating quiescent current.

Getting Started

When designing with the MIC5317, place a 1uF ceramic capacitor close to the input and output pins for stability. Ensure the exposed pad of the 4-lead UDFN package is soldered to a grounded copper plane to manage thermal dissipation effectively. Use the Enable (EN) pin to toggle the device state via a standard GPIO from a microcontroller.
