Overview

The MPFS-ICICLE-KIT is a low-power development platform for the PolarFire SoC FPGA, the first RISC-V based SoC FPGA to support Linux. It features a five-core 64-bit RISC-V microprocessor subsystem integrated with a 254K logic element FPGA fabric. The board is designed for evaluating high-performance, thermally efficient applications at the edge.

Why Choose This Part

It offers a unique combination of low power consumption and high-speed I/O including PCIe Root Port and SGMII support. The kit provides significant expansion flexibility through Raspberry Pi 4, mikroBUS, and PCIe connectors, supported by 2GB of LPDDR4 memory.

Applications

Edge Computing
Deploying Linux-based applications with real-time requirements in power-constrained environments.
Industrial Automation
Utilizing SGMII and CAN interfaces for secure, deterministic industrial networking.
Secure IoT Gateways
Leveraging the secure boot and physical unclonable function (PUF) capabilities of the PolarFire architecture.
Prototyping RISC-V Systems
A comprehensive hardware target for software developers porting OS kernels and drivers to the RISC-V ISA.
