Overview

The MPXA4115AC6U is an absolute integrated silicon pressure sensor designed for sensing between 15 kPa and 115 kPa. This surface-mount component combines a sensitive piezoresistive element with on-chip signal conditioning and calibration to provide a high-level analog voltage output. It is temperature compensated across a wide range of -40 to +125 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for both industrial and automotive environments.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor offers a low 1.5 percent maximum error over the 0 to 85 Celsius range, ensuring high precision without external calibration. Its integrated design includes on-chip bipolar op-amp circuitry and thin-film resistor networks to provide a robust 0.2 V to 4.8 V analog output that interfaces directly with microcontroller ADCs.

Applications

Altimeters
Provides accurate barometric pressure readings for altitude determination in flight instrumentation.
Engine Control Units (ECU)
Used for Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensing to optimize fuel injection and ignition timing.
Weather Stations
Measures atmospheric pressure for local weather forecasting and barometric monitoring.
Industrial Process Control
Monitors vacuum or absolute pressure in sealed industrial systems and pneumatic equipment.

Getting Started

To evaluate this sensor, connect the VDD pin to a stable 5.0V supply and the GND pin to your system ground. The analog output (Vout) can be directly sampled by a 10-bit or 12-bit ADC on a microcontroller like an STM32 or Arduino. Ensure a decoupling capacitor is placed close to the supply pins and use the 0.13-inch male port to interface with standard pneumatic tubing.
