Overview

The MPXH6115A6U is an absolute integrated silicon pressure sensor designed for a range of 15 kPa to 115 kPa. It combines a highly sensitive piezoresistive transducer with on-chip signal conditioning, calibration, and temperature compensation in a surface mount 8-SOIC package. This sensor provides a high-level analog output voltage ranging from 0.2 V to 4.7 V, making it directly compatible with microcontroller ADC inputs.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor features a high sensitivity of 45.0 mV/kPa and is temperature compensated from -40 C to +125 C. It is housed in a durable thermoplastic (PPS) package that is resistant to high humidity and common automotive media. Its low profile 8-SOIC footprint simplifies PCB layout compared to larger traditional pressure sensor modules.

Applications

Engine Management Systems
Used as a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor to monitor intake vacuum for fuel injection timing.
Altimeter and Barometric Sensing
High accuracy of 1.5 percent makes it suitable for weather stations and altitude tracking devices.
Industrial Process Control
Monitoring absolute pressure in sealed systems and pneumatic equipment.
Small Engine Control
Ideal for lawn and garden equipment or small vehicle engine control units.

Getting Started

To integrate this sensor, connect the VDD pin to a stable 5.0V supply and the GND pin to your common return. The analog output (Vout) should be connected to a 10-bit or 12-bit ADC on your microcontroller, ideally with a small RC filter to reduce noise. Reference the datasheet's transfer function Vout = VS * (0.009 * P - 0.095) for pressure conversion.
