Overview

The NCV2903DR2G is a dual independent precision voltage comparator designed specifically for automotive environments. It operates over a wide supply range from 2V to 36V and features an open-collector output, making it compatible with various logic levels including TTL, DTL, and CMOS. This AEC-Q100 qualified device is optimized for stability and reliability in high-temperature applications up to 125 degrees Celsius.

Why Choose This Part

The device offers a very low quiescent current of approximately 0.4mA at 5V, reducing parasitic draw in always-on automotive systems. Its open-collector architecture allows for easy level shifting and wired-OR logic configurations across multiple voltage domains up to 36V.

Applications

Automotive Window and Wiper Control
Used in threshold detection for motor stall currents or position sensing feedback in vehicle body electronics.
Battery Management Systems (BMS)
Functions as a hardware-level over-voltage or under-voltage protector by comparing cell voltages against a fixed reference.
Industrial Limit Switching
Ideal for sensor signal conditioning where a digital output is required based on an analog threshold in harsh environments.
Power Supply Monitoring
Acts as a supervisor to trigger power-good signals or reset lines when rails fall outside of specified tolerances.

Getting Started

For rapid prototyping, mount this SOIC-8 package onto a standard 0.154 inch pitch breadboard adapter. Ensure a pull-up resistor is connected to the output pin, as the open-collector stage cannot drive a high logic level independently. Decouple the VCC pin with a 0.1uF ceramic capacitor placed as close to the device as possible to maintain stability during high-speed transitions.
