Overview

The NPA-700B-015D is a surface-mountable pressure sensor that provides a 14-bit digital output via an I2C interface. It is designed for differential pressure measurements up to 15 PSI (103.42 kPa) and features an integrated temperature sensor for internal compensation. This sensor is housed in a 14-SOIC module with dual barbed ports, making it suitable for direct pneumatic connection in board-level designs.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor simplifies system design by integrating a 14-bit ADC and digital signal conditioning, eliminating the need for external precision analog circuitry. It offers temperature compensation across a wide operating range of -40 to 125 degrees Celsius with a rated accuracy of +/-1.5 percent. The dual barbed ports allow for secure, direct tubing attachments in a compact surface-mount footprint.

Applications

HVAC Airflow Monitoring
Measuring pressure drops across filters or within ducts to calculate air velocity and volume.
Medical Ventilators
Precise monitoring of differential pressure in respiratory equipment to manage patient airflow.
Industrial Process Control
Monitoring pneumatic line pressure and detecting leaks in automated manufacturing systems.
Environmental Monitoring
Barometric and differential pressure sensing in weather stations and air quality monitors.

Getting Started

To interface with the sensor, connect the SCL and SDA pins to an I2C-capable microcontroller and provide a stable 5V supply (4.75V to 5.25V range). The device uses a standard I2C protocol to return two bytes of pressure data and optionally two bytes of temperature data. Developers should use the barbed ports with 3mm (0.12 inch) ID tubing and ensure the I2C bus has appropriate pull-up resistors.
