nRF9160-SIAA-B1A-R
Overview
The nRF9160-SIAA-B1A-R is a highly integrated SiP (System-in-Package) that combines a multi-mode LTE-M/NB-IoT modem with a dedicated application processor and GPS functionality. It features an Arm Cortex-M33 core running at 64MHz with Arm TrustZone technology for secure execution and 1MB of Flash for complex application logic. The module is designed for low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) applications, supporting global frequency bands from 700MHz to 2.2GHz within a compact 10.5mm x 16mm LGA footprint.
Why Choose This Part
This module provides a complete cellular IoT solution in a single package, significantly reducing PCB complexity and certification time. It offers robust security through Arm TrustZone and CryptoCell-310, while maintaining an extremely low sleep current of approximately 1.4uA. The wide supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V allows for flexible power configurations, including direct battery attachment.

Key Specifications
Getting Started
Developers should use the nRF Connect SDK, which is based on the Zephyr RTOS, to build applications. The nRF9160-DK is the primary development hardware for prototyping, and the module is programmed via the Serial Wire Debug (SWD) interface. Ensure the latest modem firmware is flashed to take advantage of updated LTE-M and NB-IoT protocol features.
