Overview

The OPA836IDBVR is a high-speed, voltage-feedback operational amplifier designed for low-power applications requiring high bandwidth. It features a single circuit with rail-to-rail output and a power-down mode that reduces current consumption to 0.5 uA. Operating from a supply voltage between 2.5V and 5.5V, it provides an excellent balance of speed and power efficiency.

Why Choose This Part

The OPA836IDBVR offers a massive 205 MHz bandwidth and 560 V/us slew rate while consuming only 1 mA of supply current. Its rail-to-rail output swing maximizes dynamic range on low-voltage rails, and the integrated power-down pin is ideal for power-sensitive portable electronics.

Applications

ADC Drivers
Driving high-performance successive-approximation register (SAR) or delta-sigma analog-to-digital converters.
Low-Power Video Systems
Buffering and amplifying video signals in portable or battery-operated multimedia devices.
Active Filters
Implementing high-order, high-frequency low-pass or band-pass filters in signal conditioning chains.
Photodiode Transimpedance Amplifiers
Converting small currents from optical sensors into measurable voltages in high-speed communication or sensing.

Getting Started

When designing high-speed layouts, place decoupling capacitors as close to the VDD pins as possible to minimize parasitic inductance. Use a solid ground plane and minimize trace capacitance at the inverting input to maintain stability. Evaluation can be performed using the TI DEM-OPA-SOT-1A unpopulated PCB for SOT-23-6 packages.
