PCA9534PW
Overview
The PCA9534PW is a low-power, 8-bit I/O expander for I2C-bus and SMBus applications. It provides a simple solution when additional I/O is needed for ACPI power switches, sensors, push buttons, or LEDs while keeping the microcontroller pin count low. This device includes an internal power-on reset and a polarity inversion register to configure the input data inversion.
Why Choose This Part
The device features a very low standby current of 1 uA and supports a wide supply voltage range of 2.3V to 5.5V, making it suitable for battery-operated systems. It includes an active-LOW interrupt output to notify the host of input state changes, eliminating the need for continuous I2C polling.

Getting Started
Connect the SCL and SDA lines to your I2C host with appropriate pull-up resistors and configure the three hardware address pins (A0, A1, A2) to set the device address. The internal power-on reset ensures the registers initialize to their default states at startup, allowing immediate communication at clock speeds up to 400 kHz.
