Overview

The PM-L45 is a U-shaped through-beam photoelectric sensor designed for precise position sensing and industrial automation. It features a wide 5V to 24V supply range and a built-in amplifier, allowing it to interface directly with PLC inputs or microcontrollers. The sensor provides an NPN open-collector output with a fast response time of 20 microseconds or less in certain conditions, making it suitable for high-speed detection tasks.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor features a compact chassis-mount design with pre-wired leads, reducing assembly time compared to connector-based models. Its wide operating voltage and 50mA output capacity allow it to drive small relays or logic circuits directly without additional buffering.

Applications

Pallet Positioning
Used to detect the presence and exact alignment of pallets on conveyor systems.
Limit Sensing
Acting as a non-contact end-of-travel limit switch for linear actuators and robotic arms.
Rotary Encoding
Sensing slots in a disk to measure RPM or angular position in motor assemblies.
Object Counting
High-speed counting of small parts passing through the 6mm sensing gap.

Getting Started

Connect the brown wire to supply voltage (5-24V DC) and the blue wire to ground. The black wire provides the NPN open-collector output; use a pull-up resistor if connecting to a high-impedance digital input on a microcontroller like an Arduino or ESP32.
