Overview

The PRV15-D1-6 is a 6W isolated high-voltage DC/DC converter module designed to provide a dual output of up to 1000V (configured as 2x 0.5kV or 2x 1kV) from a wide 2.5V to 15V input range. It features a proportional output architecture with built-in metal shielding and a quasi-sinewave oscillator to minimize EMI in sensitive measurement environments.

Why Choose This Part

The module utilizes a quasi-sinewave oscillator and metal shielding to achieve significantly lower noise compared to standard switching regulators. It includes robust protection features such as thermal shutdown, over-voltage protection, and a logical alarm output to indicate fault conditions to a host controller.

Applications

Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) Biasing
Low-noise high voltage supply for sensitive light detection sensors in analytical instruments.
Electrostatic Chucks
Providing the necessary high potential for wafer handling and semiconductor processing equipment.
Mass Spectrometry
Precise voltage generation for ion acceleration and deflection plates.
Insulation Testing
Integrated high-voltage source for portable handheld and industrial insulation resistance meters.

Getting Started

Connect a stable DC source between 2.5V and 15V to the input pins and use the Active Low Enable pin to control the output state. Ensure the logical alarm pin is monitored by a microcontroller to handle thermal or over-voltage events, and provide adequate PCB creepage distances around the high-voltage output pins.
