PS1-VOC-1000
Overview
The PS1-VOC-1000 is a solid polymer electrochemical sensor designed to detect Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) within a 0-1000ppm measurement range. This 3-pin SMD component offers high sensitivity of 55 nA/ppm and operates across a wide temperature range of -40C to 55C. Unlike traditional sensors, it features a leak-proof electrolyte design and comes individually calibrated with a test report.
Why Choose This Part
This sensor provides a robust 16-bit resolution capability and a fast response time while eliminating the risk of electrolyte leakage common in liquid-based electrochemical cells. Its small 5mm x 11.5mm SMD footprint and wide operating pressure range of 800 mbar to 1.2 bar make it suitable for compact, high-altitude, or pressurized applications.

Getting Started
To interface with the PS1-VOC-1000, engineers should use a high-precision potentiostat circuit to convert the nano-ampere current output into a measurable voltage for an ADC. SGX Sensortech provides evaluation boards that simplify the analog front-end design and allow for quick verification using the included calibration data. Ensure proper PCB layout to minimize noise on the sensitive 2.54mm pitch signal pins.
