Overview

The PVU414S-TPBF is a single-pole, normally open solid-state relay designed for high-voltage switching up to 400V at 140mA. Utilizing Infineon's HEXFET Power MOSFET technology as the output switch, it provides high off-state resistance and 4,000 VRMS I/O isolation in a surface-mount package.

Why Choose This Part

This photorelay features an extremely low thermal offset voltage of 0.2 microvolts, making it excellent for low-level analog signal switching. It offers bounce-free operation and high operating speeds compared to traditional electromechanical relays while maintaining high ESD tolerance up to 4000V (HBM).

Applications

Instrumentation Systems
Used for signal switching in automated test equipment and data acquisition systems requiring high off-state resistance.
Telecommunications
Ideal for tip-and-ring switching and hook switch functions due to its 400V load rating.
Industrial Controls
Reliable replacement for electromechanical relays in PLC outputs and process control loops.
Medical Equipment
Suitable for isolated signal monitoring and patient protection circuits where solid-state reliability is required.

Getting Started

When designing with this part, ensure the input LED current is restricted via a series resistor to meet the 1.2VDC nominal forward voltage requirement. The gull-wing SMD package is compatible with standard infrared reflow soldering profiles and is provided in tape-and-reel format for automated pick-and-place assembly.
