Overview

The RC1882CEF-IPM is a Sub-1GHz Industrial IoT Mesh (RIIM) module based on the IEEE 802.15.4 g/e standard. It operates in the 868MHz and 915MHz bands, providing a self-healing and self-building mesh network with IPv6/IPv4 interoperability via CoAP and UDP protocols.

Why Choose This Part

The module simplifies IoT development with an Intelligent C-Programmable Interface (ICI) that allows users to run application code directly on the module. It offers high reliability through a self-healing mesh architecture and is pre-certified for global Sub-1GHz regulations, significantly reducing time-to-market.

Applications

Smart Street Lighting
Utilizes multi-hop mesh networking to control and monitor street lighting over large urban areas with high node density.
Industrial Sensor Networks
Reliable data collection in harsh environments using frequency hopping and automatic retransmission features.
Smart Metering
Long-range communication for utility meters with support for battery-operated nodes via ultra-low sleep current.
Building Automation
Secure monitoring of HVAC and safety systems using DTLS encryption and IPv6 addressing.

Getting Started

Developers should use the Radiocrafts RIIM SDK and the RC1882-RIIM-DK development kit for initial prototyping. Application logic is implemented in C using the ICI framework, and firmware can be updated remotely via Over The Air (OTA) capabilities.
