Overview

The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4108016) is a high-performance System on Module (SoM) featuring a quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 processor running at 1.5GHz. This specific variant is equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 16GB of onboard eMMC storage, providing a compact 55mm x 40mm form factor for industrial and commercial integration. It breaks out critical interfaces including PCIe Gen 2, Dual HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet via two high-density 100-pin connectors.

Why Choose This Part

The CM4108016 provides a significant performance boost over previous generations with its ARMv8 architecture and hardware-accelerated video decoding. Its unique high-density connector design eliminates the SODIMM bottleneck, allowing for a smaller footprint and access to a PCIe Gen 2.0 x1 interface for custom hardware expansion.

Applications

Industrial IoT Gateways
Utilizes the onboard Gigabit Ethernet and PCIe lane for high-speed data routing and local edge processing in factory environments.
Digital Signage and Dual-Display Systems
Leverages dual HDMI 2.0 outputs and H.265 4Kp60 decoding capabilities to drive high-resolution media displays.
Edge AI and Machine Learning
The 8GB RAM capacity and quad-core A72 architecture support running complex inference models and computer vision tasks.
Embedded Instrumentation
Integrates into custom carrier boards using the 28 GPIO lines, SPI, I2C, and UART for specialized sensor interfacing.
