SENSCD40-D-R1
Overview
The SCD40-D-R1 is a high-accuracy carbon dioxide, humidity, and temperature sensor built on Sensirion PASens photoacoustic NDIR technology. It offers a wide measurement range of 0 to 40000 ppm in a compact 10.1mm x 10.1mm x 6.5mm LGA package suitable for automated SMD assembly. This sensor is designed for high-volume indoor air quality applications requiring precision monitoring in a small form factor.
Why Choose This Part
The photoacoustic NDIR technology allows for a significant size reduction compared to traditional NDIR sensors while maintaining high sensitivity. It features an integrated temperature and humidity sensor for full environmental compensation and supports low-power modes, with current consumption as low as 0.36mA in single-shot mode at 5V.

Getting Started
Engineers can interface with the SCD40 via its I2C interface, which operates over a 2.4V to 5.5V supply range. Sensirion provides dedicated drivers for easy integration, and the sensor is reflow-solderable for cost-effective PCB assembly. For initial prototyping, the SEK-SCD41-Sensor evaluation kit is recommended for testing performance with the Sensirion ControlCenter software.
