SCD40-D-R2
Overview
The SCD40-D-R2 is a miniature CO2, humidity, and temperature sensor based on photoacoustic NDIR sensing technology. It utilizes Sensirion PASens and CMOSens technology to provide high-accuracy environmental monitoring in a compact 10.1mm x 10.1mm x 6.5mm LGA package. The device operates over a 2.4V to 5.5V supply range and communicates via a standard I2C interface.
Why Choose This Part
The photoacoustic sensing principle allows for a significant reduction in sensor size without compromising sensitivity, which is specified at +/- (50 ppm + 5% of reading). It features on-chip signal compensation and an integrated SHT4x sensor, simplifying system design by providing three environmental metrics from a single reflow-solderable component.

Getting Started
Connect the SCD40-D-R2 to a microcontroller via the I2C interface and provide a stable 3.3V or 5V supply. Sensirion provides C and Arduino libraries to handle the initialization and periodic measurement sequences, including low-power modes for battery-operated designs. Ensure the sensor is placed away from heat sources to maintain the accuracy of the integrated temperature sensor.
