Overview

The SEN0244 is a Gravity-compatible Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) sensor kit designed to measure the purity of water by detecting the concentration of dissolved substances. It consists of a waterproof TDS probe and a signal transmitter board that converts the sensor's conductivity readings into an analog voltage signal.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor features a wide supply voltage range of 3.3V to 5.5V, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic controllers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Its low operating current of 3mA to 6mA and a waterproof probe allow for long-term submerged monitoring in applications up to 55 degrees Celsius.

Applications

Hydroponic Nutrient Monitoring
Maintains optimal nutrient concentrations in water-based plant growth systems by tracking TDS levels between 0 to 1000ppm.
Domestic Water Quality Testing
Used in smart home systems to monitor the effectiveness of water filters and ensure drinking water meets purity standards.
Environmental Monitoring
Provides a low-power solution for field-deployed water quality sensors in rivers or lakes where battery life is critical.

Getting Started

Connect the waterproof probe to the transmitter board and interface the board with any microcontroller using an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) pin. For best results, use the DFRobot Gravity library to implement temperature compensation, as TDS readings are highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
