Overview

The SEN65-SIN-T is an integrated environmental sensing module designed for comprehensive air quality monitoring. It combines sensors for particulate matter, relative humidity, temperature, and gaseous pollutants (VOC and NOx) into a single I2C-compatible package. This all-in-one solution simplifies the hardware design process for air purification and HVAC systems by providing multiple environmental data points through a single interface.

Why Choose This Part

This module reduces system complexity by eliminating the need for separate sensors for PM, gas, and humidity. It operates within a 3.15V to 3.6V VDD range and features a low sleep current of 3300 uA, making it suitable for modern low-power electronics. The integration of NOx and VOC indexing allows for more sophisticated chemical sensing compared to standard particulate sensors.

Applications

Air Purifiers
Real-time monitoring of PM2.5 and VOC levels to automate fan speed adjustments and filter efficiency tracking.
HVAC Control Systems
Integration into smart thermostats and ventilation systems to maintain indoor air quality and occupant comfort.
Industrial Air Monitoring
Detection of NOx and particulate matter in warehouse or light manufacturing environments for safety compliance.
Smart Home Hubs
Providing environmental data to centralized automation systems for logging and user notification.

Key Specifications

Output Type I2C
Sensor Type Air Quality Sensor
Operating Temperature -10degC ~ 60degC

Getting Started

Connect the module to a microcontroller using the I2C interface and supply power within the 3.15V to 3.6V range. Note that the device requires a 60-second stabilization period after power-on before reaching its standard 80mA run current. Sensirion provides driver support and an evaluation kit, the SEK-SEN6x, for rapid prototyping via USB.
