Overview

The SG-210STF is a 24 MHz CMOS crystal oscillator designed for low-power electronic systems. It features a wide supply voltage range of 1.6V to 3.6V and a compact 2.5mm x 2.0mm footprint, making it suitable for modern battery-operated and space-constrained applications. The integrated standby function allows the device to power down when the clock signal is not required, significantly reducing current consumption.

Why Choose This Part

The oscillator provides excellent stability with a frequency tolerance of +/-25ppm or +/-50ppm depending on the specific variant. Its wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and broad voltage support (1.6V to 3.6V) allow it to operate in varied environments without additional voltage regulation.

Applications

Microcontroller Clocking
Provides a stable 24 MHz reference clock for MCUs and SoCs in consumer and industrial electronics.
Battery-Powered Handhelds
Utilizes the standby function to preserve battery life in portable devices when in sleep modes.
Interface Logic
Driving timing for USB controllers, Ethernet PHYs, or other digital logic requiring a CMOS-level clock.
IoT Sensor Nodes
Small form factor and low voltage operation facilitate integration into compact wireless sensor housings.

Getting Started

When designing the PCB layout, place a 0.01uF to 0.1uF bypass capacitor as close as possible to the Vcc pin to minimize noise. Ensure the trace length from the oscillator output to the target IC is minimized to prevent signal degradation and EMI issues. Verify the standby (ST) pin logic levels to ensure the oscillator is active during normal operation.
