Overview

The SI5338A-B-GM is a highly flexible, I2C-programmable clock generator capable of synthesizing any frequency up to 710 MHz on each of its four differential outputs. Utilizing Silicon Labs proprietary MultiSynth technology, it provides high-precision clock synthesis with 0.7 ps RMS phase jitter, making it suitable for demanding timing architectures.

Why Choose This Part

This device eliminates the need for multiple discrete crystal oscillators by providing four independent, frequency-agile outputs in a compact 4x4 mm QFN package. It supports a wide operating voltage range from 1.71V to 3.63V and features independent output voltage levels per driver, simplifying integration in multi-rail digital systems.

Applications

PCI Express Timing
Fully compliant with PCIe Gen 1, 2, 3, and 4 common clock requirements, as well as Gen 3 SRNS specifications.
Ethernet Switch and Router Clocks
Provides multiple low-jitter synchronous clocks for high-speed networking equipment and data center infrastructure.
Broadcast Video Systems
Generates precise reference frequencies for high-definition video processing and transmission hardware.
FPGA and Processor Clocking
Replaces multiple crystal oscillators with a single chip to provide diverse clock frequencies for high-performance SoCs and FPGAs.
