SIM7070G
Overview
The SIM7070G is a SIMCom cellular module family that supports LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT connectivity along with GNSS positioning. It exposes standard host interfaces (UART, USB, I2C, I2S, PCM, ADC) and uses common AT commands for control. The module accepts a 3.0 V to 4.6 V supply and is offered as a surface-mount module for integration into battery-powered IoT devices.
Why Choose This Part
SIM7070G combines LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT radios with on-board GNSS, reducing the number of separate components required for many IoT designs. It supports common, well-understood host interfaces (UART/USB) and AT commands, which simplifies firmware development and integration with microcontrollers or application processors. The module's wide supply range (3.0 V to 4.6 V) and -40 to 85 C rating make it suitable for battery-powered and industrial deployments.

Getting Started
Start with the manufacturer evaluation kit or a carrier-specific dev board to validate network registration, bands, and GNSS performance. Use a serial terminal or a USB connection to issue AT commands for network attach, PDP context, and GNSS control. Prepare a clean power supply with sufficient peak current capability and follow SIMCom guidelines for antenna selection, SIM card insertion, and firmware updates.
