Overview

The SIT8008AI-11-33E-100.000000 is a high-performance 100 MHz MEMS oscillator from SiTime, designed for superior reliability and shock resistance compared to traditional quartz resonators. This LVCMOS/HCMOS oscillator operates at 3.3V and features a small 2.50mm x 2.00mm 4-SMD footprint with a dedicated Output Enable pin. It provides highly stable clocking with a frequency tolerance of +/-20ppm across an extended temperature range of -40C to 85C.

Why Choose This Part

This MEMS-based oscillator eliminates the risk of 'crystal burnout' and offers significantly better resilience to mechanical stress. The +/-20ppm stability ensures precise timing for sensitive communication protocols, while the 3.3V LVCMOS output provides easy integration with standard logic levels. Its small footprint and low profile make it ideal for high-density PCB layouts where space is at a premium.

Applications

High-Speed Digital Clocking
Providing a stable 100 MHz reference for FPGAs, high-speed microcontrollers, and Ethernet PHYs.
Industrial Automation
Used in harsh environments where MEMS technology offers better vibration and mechanical shock immunity than quartz.
Consumer Electronics
Serves as a compact timing source for high-definition video processing and data storage systems.
Embedded Computing
Ideal for single-board computers and edge devices requiring a precise 100 MHz time base in a 2.5mm x 2.0mm package.

Getting Started

To integrate this oscillator, connect the 3.3V supply to Pin 4 and GND to Pin 2, ensuring a 0.1uF bypass capacitor is placed close to the VDD pin. The Output Enable (OE) pin (Pin 1) must be pulled high or left floating to activate the 100 MHz output on Pin 3. No external load capacitors are required for the resonator as the MEMS circuitry is fully integrated within the package.
