SKY66420-11
Overview
The SKY66420-11 is a high-performance RF front-end module (FEM) designed for Sub-GHz applications in the 860MHz to 930MHz frequency range. It integrates a power amplifier capable of +27 dBm output, a low-noise amplifier with a typical 1.5 dB noise figure, and transmit/receive switching into a compact 3x3 mm package. This module is optimized for long-range wireless communication standards like LoRa and Sigfox.
Why Choose This Part
The module significantly reduces PCB footprint by integrating the PA, LNA, and switching logic into a single 16-pin MCM. It features a high transmit bypass path with less than 1.5 dB loss and exceptionally fast switching times, with turn-on/off times under 4 microseconds for Rx and 2 microseconds for Tx. Its wide supply voltage range from 2V to 4.8V makes it highly compatible with various battery chemistries and SoCs.

Getting Started
When designing with the SKY66420-11, ensure a 50 Ohm matched impedance on the RF lines and provide adequate thermal grounding through the center paddle of the 16-MCM package. For evaluation, Skyworks provides specific reference designs and evaluation boards tailored for 868MHz or 915MHz operation. Control logic for the PA and LNA is handled through simple GPIO pins from an external microcontroller or transceiver.
